Our airline aisle sat three people across, so I sat in the aisle seat, with Loudoun next to me and Avalon next to the window. Ya know, to trap
I was able to read quite a bit on the flight, while my kids played video games and watched downloaded movies. I read the book Crazy Love (by Francis Chan) for the second time, which is already covered in notes and highlights from the first time. Loudoun was extremely interested in my book, and kept pausing his game and looking over to get glimpses of the page I was on. At one point he looked over to read 2 lines I had previously highlighted (page 51).
...nothing matters except our King and God...
...He is everything.
Loudoun stopped and pondered it for quite some time, and shared that it was really a neat thing to read about our God. Not only did he stop his video game. Not only did he show interest in what I was reading and actually read some of it himself, but he also took it in...the words and their meaning...in his heart.
It was the perfect way to end our vacation. God moving in his heart.

This gave me chills. It's the moment I work hard for, pray for, and wait expectantly for: the moment (hopefully many of them!) when I can observe our King and God moving in the hearts of my children. Great Bigger Picture moment, Robin!
ReplyDeleteOh yes!!!!! It is so very important to build that base, but then to see it in action. Thank the Lord. Beautiful bigger picture chica!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful moment. Kids are funny that way, just when you think they aren't listening or observing. They surprise you take it all in...NICE.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I LOVE that book by the way. One of my favorites too.
Oh I remember the first time I saw this in my son...he only had time for one story and said I'll choose the bible because God is most important. It's such a nice surprise and a reinforcement that I am not ruining them :-)
ReplyDeleteGoosebumps from this. I love that. I love that He is moving in L's heart.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful that Loundoun took such an interest like that. There is nothing quite like seeing faith alive and growing in our children. And by-the-way, I LOVED "Crazy Love." Such an awesome book!
