Second grade seems to be the one.
The one that catapults kids into more serious studying.
...into homework is due the next day or there are consequences.
...into upcoming tests.
...into less art projects and more paragraphs.
...into less nurturing and more "this is how it is."
...into being able to eat 2 dinners.
...into wanting skinny jeans.
...into picking the backdrop for your school pictures.
...and wanting to get a haircut the night before.
Luckily, his heart hasn't made that leap yet, and he is still my innocent baby boy.
I'm not ready for him to grow up so fast. Can someone please slow this down?

Tell me when you find that pause button, I need it too!
ReplyDeleteHe's all kinds of precious, sleeping there!
Ugh, I wish! I want to slow it down, too. I love discovering each new phase of childhood with my girls, but lately (since school started) I just feel like they're spiraling faster and faster toward adulthood.
ReplyDeleteBut at least they still look little while they sleep, right? So cute!
Share it, please, when it's discovered. Because we're racing along here, too. {Skinny jeans in second grade?! Cannot get over that!}
ReplyDeleteI love that he sleeps on a star pillow. So fitting for your baby boy... uh, I mean little man. :)
